Global Analytics Director at Retail InsightKris delivers analytical consulting services for FMCG and retail clients globally. He works with clients to develop their analytics strategy and supports them throughout delivery. Prior to joining RI, Kris held numerous senior management roles with Asda, Waitrose and SSP Group. At Asda Walmart, Kris led the analytics, project development and inventory teams, delivering end-to-end, transformational change programmes to reduce retail shrinkage across Asda’s 640 UK stores. Prior to Asda, Kris developed his career at John Lewis Partnership. Joining as a Graduate Trainee, he held various senior roles in stores and HQ. Following several years in store management, Kris was seconded to the OD Director to undertake a Partnership-wide study into the Service Profit Chain and Employee Engagement. He worked at Waitrose HQ over a 5 year period, firstly to reduce the company’s wastage and shrink costs, then established a new Retail Insight function in central operations. He subsequently led a field team of in-store supply chain professionals, and in his last role led the Wage Planning team of WFM professionals for supply chain and stores. Kris was awarded a PhD in Retail Performance & KPI linkage in 2004 and has a first-class degree in Management from Henley Business School. His PhD was an incisive, statistical analysis of corporate culture and the key drivers of store performance at Tesco. The thesis remains the largest KPI linkage study worldwide, which he presented to The Academy of Management and is published in leading international journals.
